Accelerating News: Synergies for testing Superconducting RF (SRF) cavities

19 December 2013 CRISP, the "Cluster of Research Infrastructures for Synergies in Physics" is a European-funded project and one of its objectives is to upgrade and harmonise the SRF Accelerator Structures for ESS, ILC, LHC upgrade and the European XFEL. The activity supports an optimised surface treatment, the application of advanced test and preparation infrastructure as well as state-of-the-art diagnostics tools. Significant focus is laid on the knowledge transfer between ESS, CERN and DESY. Read more in Accelerating News Winter 2013 issue Category: Around the World | Tagged: , , , , ,

From Fermilab Today: AD & TD collaborate on first cryomodule for new facility

22 April 2010 It is perhaps fitting that the New Muon Lab, a long, low concrete affair facing open fields, sits facing the northern edge of Fermilab’s property. The hangar-sized building is a busy place these days, home to the laboratory’s Superconducting Radio Frequency Test Facility, and bustling with the work that keeps Fermilab pushing the boundary of high-energy particle physics research. STF – Getting ready for the experience

| 1 March 2007 An important prerequisite for building the ILC is to establish the design and manufacturing of major and vital components, such as cryomodules for the main linacs through realistic operating conditions. The Tesla Test Facility (FLASH) at DESY and Fermilab’s ILC Test Area have been pursued to play critical roles in the European and American regions to this end. KEK also aims to serve as an Asian regional center for the main linac technology, and their STF (Superconducting RF Test Facility) and R&D programs are a manifestation of its endeavour. Many members of STF from KEK are active members in the GDE and in close collaborative relationships with colleagues from DESY, INFN, Orsay, FNAL, JLab, Cornell and SLAC. Major laboratories from China, Korea, and India, have expressed their interests or have already begun interactions with the programme at STF in various forms also. Category: Feature | Tagged: , , , ,
