New organisation in Tohoku, the ILC’s potential host region

| 26 February 2021 Making the Tohoku area a welcoming place for the ILC and those who will live there – that is the goal of the newly established Tohoku ILC Project Development Center. It comprises 22 academic and local organisations in the north east of Japan. Promising reports from Japan

| 31 January 2021 Over the last 15 years, Japanese support for the realisation of the International Linear Collider has grown. People of all stripes —academics, members of industry, artists and everyday science fans—have banded together to voice their support for the building the ILC in Japan. The latest in this wave of support is the formation of a new committee, which recently reported on an impressive set of efforts to promote the ILC, says Andy Lankford, regional representative for the Americas in the International Development Team IDT. Impressions from Iwate

| 8 December 2016 Wish you were in Iwate for last LCWS2016 workshop? Here are some impressions of Iwate, proposed region for the International Linear Collider. More than 320 participants from around the world gathered for one week to discuss the latest R&D developments, the linear collider physics case, detectors and accelerators and project management updates for the linear collider. Scientists were warmly welcomed by an enthusiastic local community of ILC supporters. Green ILC: towards sustainable colliders

People around the world are discussing to see if the ILC could be made green in the hope to finally reach complete sustainability. More efficient klystrons and cryocoolers, recovering and recycling heat wastes, embedding renewable energies and storage technologies are some of the main issues. 18 October 2012 Drivers stuck in a traffic jam in Ichinoseki city are more likely to wonder about the mysteries of the Universe than about the latest Hollywood movie - at least if they take in the billboards at the side of the road. The vision to invite the ILC laid out

| 12 July 2012 On 10 July, governors, industrial leaders, and local officials of Japan’s northeastern area got together to attend a general meeting of the Tohoku Advanced Science and Technology Study Group.
