Suspended from the white ceramic insulator, the cathode electrode is lowered into the high-voltage chamber by Phil Adderley and Jim Clark, members of Jefferson Lab’s Electron Gun Group, during assembly of an ILC-like prototype spin-polarised electron photogun.
