IDT input to the European Strategy2025 is a crucial year for planning – and drafting – the future

Implementing a linear collider facility at CERN

“The next flagship project at CERN should be an e+e− Linear Collider spanning the centre-of- mass energy range from the Z pole into the TeV regime.” The LC Vision idea, discussed in this article, builds on the well-developed Linear Collider concepts of ILC and CLIC, and proposes a new balance of performance and cost in a context appropriate for CERN. This collider meets all of the desired criteria: a rich physics programme attentive to discovery by precision measurements, affordability and the possibility of timely implementation, and flexibility in response to new physics advances or technical developments.

Shaping the future at the Linear Collider Vision Community Event

The Linear Collider Vision Community Event, held from 8 to 10 January at CERN and on zoom, took a fresh look at the physics case, extensions and technologies of a linear collider facility – and proposing such a facility for implementation at CERN. This article summarises the discussion and gives an outlook on the next steps towards the European Particle Physics Strategy Update.

At the Linear Collider Vision Community Event, a special session was organised by Early Career Researchers to discuss their perspective on the future of linear colliders and of CERN among each other and with more senior colleagues. This article presents some of the main points of discussions and highlights the wishes of the ECR community.

    ILC､自民政調で議論開始　大野戦略調査会長｢ステージ上がった｣

    ＩＬＣ計画について、自民政調では近年議論することがなかった。同調査会は今後も定期的に議論を重ねる方針。終了後、大野会長は「議連から一つ上のステージに上がった。党の方針をしっかり出していくことが重要」と語った。(The ILC project has not been discussed in recent years by the policy research council of the Liberal Democratic Party.
