The Technical Design Report is out and you can download it here. There is also a dedicated TDR website, "from design to reality", showing the content of Volume 5 of the TDR (the "outreach volume").
Physics at ILC and its status in Japan
Talk by Hitoshi Murayama (Kavli IPMU, Japan) on Wednesday 19 June from 11:00 to 12:00 (Europe/Paris) at LAL (Auditorium Pierre Lehmann). The talk will be webcast.
Barry Barish | 9 February 2012On 19 and 20 January 2012, the third Baseline Technical Review to finalise the Technical Design Report baseline was held at KEK laboratory in Japan. The meeting reviewed the proposed cavity gradient performance, cavity integration, and the main linac integration and interfaces to the ILC conventional facilities, including radiofrequency power, control and interfaces to conventional facilities. A special meeting on superconducting radiofrequency costs followed this meeting on 21 January.

Barry Barish | 12 January 2012The ILC Project Advisory Committee met in Prague last November to carry out a technical review of the accelerator and detector R&D and design programmes. This timely review provided a technical assessment of our R&D programme goals and ILC baseline for the task of producing the ILC Technical Design Report.

Barry Barish | 1 December 2011In just over one year we plan to produce the final Global Design Effort deliverable, a Technical Design Report for the ILC. We have made a set of important improvements in the design over the past year that will result in an ILC design that is more optimised for cost, performance and risk, and have recently hammered out a large number of smaller technical decisions at the Baseline Technical Review at DESY.

Barbara Warmbein | 23 November 2011One of the busiest places in the ILC design is the central region. It’s where it all happens: the beams get squeezed and focused and kicked into collision and out comes physics. To make sure that everything works to perfection and to reach consensus on the design, the central region has just undergone a technical baseline review, along with areas like the connection between damping ring and main linac. One of the core decisions for the latter: a two-stage bunch compressor for shorter beams.
