Brian Foster, European director for the Linear Collider Collaboration, has just been appointed chair of the subcommittee in charge of producing recommendations on the organisation and management of an ILC lab in Japan.

The meeting is intended to raise the profile and set the strategy for the future of accelerator physics in the US. The morning's talks have been in turn illuminating, amusing, and infuriating.
