LCFOA goes to Washington

7 August 2008 The Linear Collider Forum of America (LCFOA) held an ILC industrialisation meeting and briefing for Congressional staffers on Capitol Hill on 29 July. The briefing was attended by 46 persons from universities, industry, and laboratories and Congressional staff. About half of the attendees were Congressional staffers. The objective of the briefing was to emphasise the importance of a strong industrialisation component within the Americas Regional Team's Technical Design effort, describe other potential benefits of the ILC technologies for industry and the country, and to recommend the economic and educational benefits of siting the ILC at a U.S. site during the Technical Design phase timeframe to the U.S. audience. U.S. Congressmen Address ILC R&D and Industrialisation

| 8 March 2007 Last week on 28 February, U.S. industry members and scientists gathered at the Linear Collider Forum of America meeting on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. to start a dialogue with congressmen and senate and house staffers about the International Linear Collider. The recent publication of the Reference Design Report made the meeting a timely venue to discuss plans to increase worldwide ILC R&D, a programme that will require participation from industry members around the globe. Contracts, Costing and Bid-to-Host – Oh My!

| 4 May 2006 Contracts, costing estimates and the bid-to-host process were the buzz words at the Linear Collider Forum of America industry meeting, hosted by SLAC earlier this week on 1-2 May. While the majority of the two days was dedicated to presentations about the latest ILC activities, this second meeting of the LCFOA allowed U.S. industry members to establish a stronger dialogue with the U.S. laboratories involved in the project. And even though the big questions about how much will it cost and when can proposals for contracts be submitted remain unanswered for the time being, attendees received a clear message that working with industry is essential for building the ILC. Linear Collider Forum of America Hosts Next ILC Industrialization Meeting at SLAC

13 April 2006 The Linear Collider Forum of America, a not-for-profit industrial forum, will hold its spring 2006 meeting at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) in Menlo Park, CA on 1-2 May. Speakers will include Barry Barish, Director ILC Global Design Effort; Gerry Dugan, GDE Regional Director for the Americas; and Jonathan Dorfan, Director SLAC. Additional speakers from the national laboratories, universities and the Department of Energy have been invited to address the group. Partnerships with Industry
